Privacy policy

What data the Solar Examiner website collects and how it is used.

Last updated: October 2, 2026.

This policy describes how the Solar Examiner website (solarexaminer.com) handles information about you.

What the site does not do

As of the date above, the website does not set cookies, does not run analytics or advertising scripts, and does not ask you to create an account or fill in a form. Fonts and images are served from our own site rather than loaded from third parties.

What is stored on your device

If you use the light/dark theme button, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under the name “theme”. It stays on your device, is used only to remember your preference, and you can clear it in your browser settings. The site works without it.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives technical information about each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, and may keep logs for security and operation. See Cloudflare’s own privacy policy for how it handles that data.

Our articles link to utilities, regulators, Unsplash photographers and other sites. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them.

If you contact us

If you email us, we use your message and email address to read and reply to you, and we keep it as long as needed for that purpose.

Changes

If we add analytics, advertising, newsletters or other features that collect data, we will update this policy before or when we do, and change the date at the top.

Questions or requests
