Oklahoma’s two large utilities are both mid-case. Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) has been charging an interim increase since July 1, 2026. Oklahoma Gas & Electric (OG&E) filed a new request on October 1. Neither has a final order.
This article covers PSO and OG&E. It does not cover cooperatives or municipal utilities.

PSO: Interim Now, Refund Likely
PSO filed on January 2, 2026. Because the Oklahoma Corporation Commission did not vote within 180 days, PSO was allowed to start interim rates on July 1.
- Interim: about $11 a month for a typical customer using 1,100 kWh.
- Settlement: PSO and Attorney General Gentner Drummond agreed to about 1%, or $2.45 a month.
- Refund: if the final increase is below the interim amount, PSO must refund the difference.
Our math: $11.00 − $2.45 = $8.55 a month that would be refunded for each month interim rates applied, if the settlement is approved as filed.
PSO said the case recovers costs from 2024 and 2025 and does not cover future data center demand. In 2024 PSO customers paid a $12 interim increase that was later affirmed. Where the case stands. An administrative law judge filed a report on August 21, 2026. On Thursday, October 1, attorneys argued the judge’s recommendations before the commissioners. KTUL reported that a final order was expected later in the fall. As of October 4, 2026 we found no final order, so the $11 interim rate is still in bills.
OG&E: New Filing
OG&E filed its first rate review since 2023 on October 1, 2026, asking for $395 million. It estimates $23.88 a month for an average residential customer, with new rates in about six months. See our OG&E article for details.
What This Means for Homeowners With Solar
We did not verify Oklahoma’s current net metering or export credit rules for this article, so we give no export rates here. Ask your utility for its current solar tariff, and check how exported energy is credited before sizing a system. Fixed monthly charges are not reduced by solar.
Our solar payback guide shows how the retail rate and the export credit change the math.
What to Check on Your Bill
- PSO customers: a line for interim rates since July, and later a refund credit.
- The base service charge.
- The fuel line, which adjusts separately.
For help sorting the lines on your bill, see our guide to reading your electric bill.
Limitations
PSO figures come from KGOU, KTUL, KRMG and the Tulsa Flyer. We did not open the Corporation Commission docket. No final order had been reported when we checked on October 4, 2026. The refund figure is our subtraction and assumes the settlement is approved unchanged; the Tulsa Flyer put it at about $9 a month.
